Menswear Moment: Pharrell Williams

Oscar night music consultant Pharrell Williams was the definition of dapper on Sunday.

His sharp, three piece tuxedo shows what a huge statement a well fitting tux can make. I also really liked the black piping on the jacket and vest. It was a nice change of texture and helped break up the two layers.

Pharrell completed his look with a daring velvet bowtie and fresh watch. Skateboard P most definitely cleans up well.

Oscars 2012 Fashion: Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford

So to round out some of my favorite Oscar night dresses. I have two words for you, Gwyneth Paltrow. The fit, the crisp color, the white nails, diamonds and fierce ponytail. All of these elements came together to make her Tom Ford gown a red carpet favorite.

And then that cape. It was futuristic chic with tons of glamour. Real style is all about taking risks, and this one most definitely paid off for Gwyneth. Just lovely.

Oscars 2012 Fashion: Rose Byrne in Vivienne Westwood

Rose Byrne wore a slinky sequinned Vivienne Westwood to the Oscars and it is was quite a magical look.

The sequin masterpiece was super sexy with its body hugging silhouette and single strap down the back. I absolutely loved this look and her Chanel earrings were divine.

She completed her look with Jimmy Choo peep toe pumps, a black clutch and a super chic bob.

Oscars 2012 Fashion: Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli

Emma Stone wore a red gown from the Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 Couture Collection for Sunday’s ceremony.

I loved the color on her but absolutely hated the oversized bow on her neck. It was just too large and attention demanding for my liking. It dominated the gown, taking away from the rest of Emma’s look.

She still was my favorite presenter of the night and at least her Louis Vuitton clutch and jewels looked fabulous. She should have left the dramatic bow at home, though. Christmas in February, I think I’ll pass.

Oscars 2012 Fashion: Meryl Streep in Lanvin

Best Actress Oscar winner Meryl Streep gleamed on Sunday night in a shimmery gold Lanvin gown.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from her on the red carpet, but she totally delivered. The gown, with it’s luxurious draping and belted waist, is sexy but in no way over the top. She looked like a a golden goddess, and just like Octavia, she chose the perfect gown for an Oscar win.

Oscars 2012 Fashion: Giuliana Rancic

Giuliana Rancic wore a gown from the Tony Ward Spring 2012 Couture Collection to the Oscars ceremony as she hosted the red carpet coverage for E! News.

This was Giuliana’s second gown of the night, and it was such a glamorous choice for her. The details of this dress are what make it spectacular.

From the petal like shoulders, to the sheer, web-like crosses of fabric under the bust and at the waist, the dress has a very classic silhouette that is enhance by its more modern elements.

Oscars 2012 Fashion: Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji

Oscar winner Octavia Spencer shimmered in a custom made gown by her awards season go-to Tadashi Shoji.

The beautifully hand beaded gown fit her perfectly, accenting her lovely curves that were enhanced burst of gorgeous beading on the gown. I was also like her gorgeous Loraine Schwartz earrings, they were one of my favorite pair from the night.

I must say she picked the perfect dress for her amazing night. It was elegant and flattering with just the right touch of drama.

Oscars 2012 Fashion: Kristen Wiig in J. Mendel

Kristen Wiig wore a beautiful nude gown from the J. Mendel 2012 Pre-Fall 2012 Collection to the Oscars on Sunday night.

I really like how the nude colored gown flows into tiers of tulle. It gives the dress such an elegantly delicate feel, perfect for the Oscars red carpet. This was a very natural look for Kristen who has stuck to a similar palette throughout this year’s awards season.

Oscars 2012 Fashion: Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton

Michelle Williams looked gorgeous at this year’s Oscars ceremony wearing a coral Louis Vuitton gown.

The peplum dress looked amazing against her fare skin, and I just love the fact she paired her coral dress with a pink Bottega Veneta clutch bag. The gown had a timeless feel to it, but her edgy haircut most definitely added a modern twist to the look.

She accessorzied with jewels by Fred Leighton and Forevermark.

Oscars 2012 Fashion: Viola Davis in Vera Wang

Viola Davis wore a custom made Vera Wang gown to the Oscars. I really liked the emerald green color of the dress and the fact that the strapless gown allowed her to once again show off her fit arms.

The gown accented her shape and the bottom layers of pleated fabric added quite the romantic touch. This isn’t my favorite look from her this awards season, but she still looks lovely.

She completed her look with Loraine Schwartz jewels and her fabulous natural hair.

Oscars 2012 Fashion: Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace

Angelina Jolie attended the 84th Annual Academy Awards wearing a stunning black Atelier Versace gown. The strapless gown, with its voluminous amounts of fabric and super sexy slit, was the perfect fit for Angelina. It had just the right amount of drama while still being elegant, making it one of my favorite looks of the night.

She completed her look with a red lip, a simple pair of diamond drop earrings and sky-high peep toe pumps.

The Just Cavalli Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear Collection was a funky mix of wild patterns, graphic stripes and shimmering fabrics. Transitioning from black and white dresses and skirts to an eye catching combination of gold and animal prints, the middle of the show was a welcomed display of neutral colors and slightly toned down details.
I have to say I really loved the daring feel of the collection. Plus, who doesn’t love a fierce leopard print?
