It has been an unexpectedly mild December in New York City this year, and I must admit that I’m not yet longing for the warmth of summer! So what better way to give a timely nod to the perfectly crisp temps we are currently experiencing than with a listen to Lenny Kravitz‘s album Are You Gonna Go My Way and a look that’s equally as chill.

I picked up my Lenny T-shirt during a random shopping trip and paired it with a pair of jeans I distressed myself and my black wingtips. And with the addition of a navy and black snapback, the look quickly defined my take on comfy cool.

It’s a new year and a confusingly frigid March in New York City. But this look I uncovered from the end of summer is a cozy reminder of what’s to come.

I came across those neon shorts while shopping a few summers ago. And for obvious reasons, they have become one of my most standout purchases ever.

I remember the day of this shoot perfectly. It was ideal for a light T-shirt, shorts and my favorite hat. I’m all about comfort during the blistering heat of summer, and this look was practical take on summer sharp. No tie or blazer required.

Spring has lowkey sprung here in New York City, so I felt it only appropriate to attempt to breathe a little life back in my blog. And what better way to welcome Treyematic’s New Year — be it a few months overdue — with a fresh batch of Treye’s Picks.

While I braved the bitter cold and sporadic snow showers that marked March in NYC, I had Jazmine Sullivan‘s new album, Reality Show, to keep my mind off what lurked in the murky depths of the sidewalk slush puddles. But Jazmine’s return to music wasn’t the only my only obsession I had during the month. From the prototype Tracee Ellis Ross to the life-altering game Threes!, here are all the things that sparked my inspiration during the past month.

I’m listening to Jazmine Sullivan’s exceptional comeback album Reality Show. I’m covering my head with the Brixton Messer fedora. I’m wanting the sporty Cole Haan ZeroGrand oxfords. I’m needing Orchill’s AV1 wallet Time Teller Watch. I’m passing my time with the super addictive game Threes!. And my favorite March cover girls are the iconic Tracee Ellis Ross for Essence and the always gorgeous Rihanna for Harper’s Bazzar.

We’ve all got at least one music t-shirt we love. It may be a faded vintage concert tee you picked up at a thrift store or a black and white shirt you snagged at the “On The Run” tour this summer.

One of my favorites happens to be a Steve Miller Band shirt I purchased a few years ago. The simple, antique white shirt shows the band’s Pegasus logo It shows the groups logo. And paired with distressed denim, brown wingtips and a baseball cap, the tee brings the ideal rock ‘n’ roll touch to the look.

As much as we all hate to admit it, summer is quickly coming to a close. But as I prepare to transition into a new season, I’m getting the final wears out of of my warm-weather favorites.

Take my camo shorts for example — shorts I actually snagged for next to nothing during a sale a few years ago. Camo is quite the chameleon print, pairing well with both casual outfits or more dressed up looks. I mixed it with trainers and another obsession of mine, my Nirvana T-shirt, for a gracefully moody farewell to summer.

Since I was a little kid, I’ve always loved wearing baseball caps. Though I’ve moved on from flipping the brims up for the ultimate Fresh Prince of Bel-Air factor, caps remain one of my all-season staples.

My Boston Red Sox hat has grown to be my summer go-to. Its navy color allows it to easily compliment a varied amount of looks. Plus, its red “B,” trimmed with gold thread, adds just the right touch of sophistication to the typically casual accessory. I’m a sucker for a dope hat, and this one is most definitely a standout.
